With a notebook and pen always in hand, Caroline is a journalism student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is currently interning for The Daily Progress, a newspaper in in Charlottesville, Virginia. She previously was a senior writer for The Daily Tar Heel’s Lifestyle Desk, where she published stories centered around community. Her passion for community journalism was homegrown from her roots in Western North Carolina, where she interned last year as a local reporter for her county newspaper, The Daily Courier. She has also reported internationally, in Tijuana, Mexico where she went for a week with a class to write about migrant and deportee experiences at the border. After graduation in May 2026, she hopes for a career that allows her to continue her pursuit of journalistic storytelling, listening and learning something new each day.
